22nd annual tricycle race to benefit United Way of the Southern Tier

Teams from area banks and credit unions will hop on child-size tricycles at 7:45 a.m. Friday, September 18, in Elmira, and find out who has the fastest feet in the financial sector.

Community Bank N.A. will host the 22nd Annual Trike Race, a fundraiser to benefit United Way of the Southern Tier, at its 300 W. Water St. location in downtown Elmira.

The event is a relay race with teams of six adults riding 12-inch, child-size tricycles as fast as they can to win the coveted Trike Trophy.

Community Bank N.A. will defend its title against teams from Chemung Canal Trust Company, Corning Credit Union, First Heritage Federal Credit Union, and ServU Federal Credit Union.

Spectators are welcome for this fun – and fast – race, which will be held rain or shine. Festivities will end around 8 a.m.
