United Way of the Southern Tier’s annual Tour de Keuka charity bike ride on Saturday, August 1, raised more than $80,000 for programs supporting children, senior citizens, and people in need in Chemung and Steuben counties.

Nearly 200 cyclists from 14 states took part in Tour de Keuka, which is presented by Kennedy Valve. Additionally, 75 community members volunteered for the day-long fundraiser.

Participants started and finished at the Hammondsport Fire Station and rode distances of 45, 60, or 100 miles. Each rider raised at least $150 for United Way programs, with many raising more than $500.

“Events like Tour de Keuka don't happen without a lot of people saying yes," said Maleaha Smith, president and CEO of United Way of the Southern Tier. “Yes to riding, yes to volunteering, yes to sponsoring, and yes to giving. We're grateful for every person who played a part, and we're excited to put these dollars to work supporting local programs throughout Chemung and Steuben counties."

A date for the 2027 Tour de Keuka will be announced this fall. Registration will open on January 1.
