Trike Race to benefit United Way of the Southern Tier

Team of six people posing with trophy and tricycle

Sept. 21, 2021:

Teams from four area banks and credit unions will hop on tricycles at 7:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in Elmira, and find out who has the fastest feet in the financial sector.

Community Bank N.A. in Elmira will host the 17th Annual Trike Race, a fundraiser to benefit United Way of the Southern Tier.

The event is a relay race with teams of six adults riding 12-inch, child-size tricycles as fast as they can to win the coveted Trike Trophy.

The year’s race will take place in the parking lot of Community Bank at 300 W. Water St. in downtown Elmira.

First Heritage Federal Credit Union will be defending its 2019 title – no race was held in 2020 -- as it rides against teams from Chemung Canal Trust Company, Corning Credit Union, and Community Bank.

Spectators are welcome for this fun – and fast – race, which will be held rain or shine.
