Tour de Keuka rolls August 6 to benefit United Way of the Southern Tier

Aug. 2, 2022:

United Way of the Southern Tier will host the Tour de Keuka charity bike ride on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, around picturesque Keuka Lake.

More than 240 riders are registered for the event, which leaves from the Hammondsport Fire Station and takes participants around Keuka Lake on 45-, 60-, or 100-mile routes.

Proceeds from the event will go to programs in Chemung and Steuben counties supported by United Way of the Southern Tier with a focus on early childhood development, supporting seniors who want to age in place at home, and ensuring that everyone’s basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter are met.

Registration for Tour de Keuka is limited to 275 participants. Online registration ends at noon on Friday, August 5. Information: www.tourdekeuka.org. A virtual ride is also available.

Riders must meet a minimum fundraising goal of $150. Participants who raise $300 or more in donations will also receive a special 2022 Tour de Keuka cycling jersey.

The 45-Mile Ride is dedicated to the memory of John “Jake” Geniviva, who passed away in 2018. Mr. Geniviva, who resided in Hammondsport and worked for Corning Incorporated, was an avid supporter of the Tour de Keuka.
