United Way, Kennel Club offer day of activities for dog owners
Wednesday, September 07, 2011United Way of the Southern Tier and the Elmira Kennel Club will present Responsible Dog Ownership Day and Paws United Dog Walk on Saturday, September 10 at the Denison Park pond pavilion.
Registration for the dog walk begins at 9 a.m. The tentative schedule of other activities:
9:30 a.m. Pointing dog demonstration
10 a.m. Paws United Dog Walk, a 1-mile loop through Denison Park
10:30 a.m. Basic dog obedience demonstration
11:15 a.m. State trooper K-9 demonstrations, Q&A session
Ongoing free activities will include agility demonstrations, meet the breeds, face painting, and dog safety tips for children. Microchipping and pet photos will be available for a fee.
Suggested donation for the Paws United dog walk is $10.
