Sikorsky Golf Tournament nets $19,000 for United Way

The Sikorsky Military Completions Center raised $19,000 for the 2011 United Way Community Campaign at its annual golf tournament on September 15 at the Corning County Club. Members of the tournament planning committee presented a check for the proceeds to United Way on September 30. >>


CA$H tax assistance program seeks volunteers for upcoming season

The Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CA$H) tax assistance program is seeking volunteer tax preparers, receptionists and screeners for the 2012 tax filing season. Training will be held this fall, and tax preparation begins early next year. >>

Tickets Available for 2011 Kickoff Event

Tickets are now available for Kick It Up for United Way! – a night of family fun to celebrate the 2011 Community Campaign kickoff. Kick It Up! will be held Friday, August 26 at the Nasser Civic Center ice rink in Corning. Beatlemania Again will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Nik and the Nice Guys from 8 p.m. to midnight. Children’s entertainment including inflatables, balloon art, face-painting and magic will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. >>
