It’s Not Too Late to Receive Free Tax Help!
Monday, March 21, 2011
The tax deadline is approaching, and the Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CA$H) program is still scheduling appointments for free tax assistance. Working families that make $49,000 or less are eligible to have their taxes done free through the program.
IRS-trained CA$H volunteers can prepare both state and federal returns, and help families find all the credits for which they are eligible. Most returns are e-filed, meaning clients receive their refunds more quickly than when filing a paper return.
Appointments are still available throughout Chemung and Steuben counties, and in Schuyler County. Both day and evening appointments are available.
To make an appointment, call 2-1-1 Helpline by dialing 2-1-1 or (800) 346-2211 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 2-1-1 Helpline’s referral specialists will help you find the appointment time and location that is most convenient for you, and tell you what to bring to your appointment.

CA$H is sponsored, in part, by a grant from the Internal Revenue Service, Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication (SPEC) Division, and Bank of America.
