Annual softball tournament nets $1,200 for United Way
Tuesday, September 20, 2011Imagine Paint from Hornell rolled to its second consecutive title at this year’s United Way Softball Challenge, which raised $1,200 for United Way of the Southern Tier.
The two-day tournament, sponsored by Eaton Corporation, was held September 9-10 at the Holding Point Recreation Complex in Horseheads. Ten teams participated; the top three will receive credit for a portion of the tournament proceeds as part of their United Way campaigns:
- Imagine Paint ($600)
- Corning Incorporated Erwin "Dutchmen" ($360)
- Corning Community College ($240)
Other participating teams were: Wegmans, Ameriprise, Mirion Technologies, Eaton Corporation, Hunt, Corning Incorporated Shared Services and Glove House.
