Volunteer resources
Volunteers are the backbone of United Way of the Southern Tier. We rely on dedicated community members to help us raise money, invest this money in programs and services, plan special events, prepare taxes through the CA$H program, and more!
If you are interested in volunteering for United Way, chances are we have an opportunity that matches your interests and skills:
Resource Development (fund raising)
Each year, United Way of the Southern Tier raises more than $4 million to support programs and services across Chemung and Steuben counties. We couldn't do it without the help of volunteers!
Fun raising volunteers are enthusiastic, energetic ... and not afraid to ask for money. Click here for information about resource development volunteer opportunities.
Community Solutions (investment)
Community Impact volunteers invest donations to United Way in programs and services that improve lives. Investment volunteers are knowledgeable about the needs in our community, and must make challenging funding decisions.

Marketing & Communications
The Marketing & Communications committee provides input and direction on branding, marketing, communications and media relations. Members also assist with event-planning, including Day of Caring and the PAWS United dog walk, and with the development of campaign materials and the campaign video.
The Marketing & Communications committee meets every month for approximately 90 minutes. For more information, contact , Manager of Marketing & Communications.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
United Way also occasionally asks for volunteer help with event-planning (campaign kick-off, for example) and clerical work. If either of these interests you, please contact .
If you are interested in volunteering elsewhere in the community, visit the 2-1-1 Give Help web site to find opportunities that match your interests, skills and availability.
