Sponsorship Opportunities -- Events
Campaign Celebration
The campaign celebration is held in December to highlight United Way’s accomplishments over the past year and to publicly recognize companies and individual volunteers. Numerous awards are presented at this event, which is attended by many of our area’s prominent organizations and community leaders.
Annual Dinner/Shand Award Presentation
United Way’s annual dinner is held in the spring to celebrate the previous year’s successes and highlight the upcoming campaign. The event includes the presentation of the Shand Award for community volunteerism and the GAV awards to individuals who have demonstrated their support for United Way of the Southern Tier by Giving, Advocating or Volunteering.
Campaign Kick-Off
This event is the official start of the United Way Community Campaign in late August or early September. Live music and other activities make this an even for the entire family.
Leadership Recognition Events
Annual events to thank United Way’s leadership givers ($500+) and to recognize their generosity, one in Corning and one in Hornell. More than 100 high-profile and influential Southern Tier residents generally attend.
Scorchfest
This summer festival raises money for the United Way Endowment Fund. The event features several bands, refreshments and a casual atmosphere.
This is a community-wide day of service, usually held in June, during which teams of volunteers from local businesses help out with projects at local non-profit organizations.
Paws United
This dog walk is help in the fall and traditionally includes a pet costume contest.
Sponsorship Opportunities -- Publications
Community Report
This United Way publication is distributed to nearly 3,000 people throughout the Southern Tier, including top management at local employers. This publication describes the positive impact programs supported by the United Way Community Fund deliver to our community in the five identified impact areas and strategic initiatives, and documents the power of donations to the Community Fund. It also includes required fiscal reporting.
