Partner Agency and Program Listing
Thanks to the generosity of thousands of individuals and companies within Chemung and Steuben counties, United Way of the Southern Tier can invest in community programs that help people improve their lives.

Initiatives
United Way is dedicated to promoting family financial security and access to services for all. In 2009, United Way also began spearheading efforts to increase civic engagement, or volunteer opportunities, for people of all ages in our community.

Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CA$H): United Way of the Southern Tier continues to encourage family financial stability through the CA$H volunteer tax-assistance program. The program assists low- to moderate-income individuals and families obtain the tax credits to which they are entitled, returning millions of dollars to our local economy each year.

Community Care Centers: By offering free health and dental care, as well as access to other services such as mediation and enrollment in government programs, Community Care Centers are advancing United Way’s goal to improve community access to human services.

2-1-1 Helpline: 2-1-1 helps residents both find and give help.

By simply dialing 2-1-1-, invidiuals in need can find a wide range of health and human services programs, from basic needs assistance and home-delivered meals, to family counseling and parenting education.

Would-be volunteers can also utilize 2-1-1 to find volunteer opportunities in our community.

 

Partnerships

United Way is a partner in the Chemung County School Readiness Project, a comprehensive initiative designed to give young children, and their families, the help they need to ensure school success.
